Richmond Railroad Museum is positively Richmond

The museum highlights the history of railroading in Richmond, Va.

Just across the 14th Street Bridge is a place preserving a very unique part of Richmond’s past.

“History is not an accounting of facts or dates. It is a story of what people have done to make things happen,” says Steve Tarrant as he points out artifacts inside the Richmond Railroad Museum.

Tarrant is a member of the Old Dominion Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society (NRHS), which works tirelessly to share how trains contributed to what Richmond is today.

What was once Hull Street Station is now home to the museum. The building turns 100-years-old this month. It was once a hub for commuter travel in the area.
