Annual model train show draws crowds in Concord

Concord, New Hampshire, model railroad show celebrates its 33rd year

The 33rd annual Concord Model Railroad Club Train Show was held Sunday in the Capital City.

The event drew large crowds, with the line to get into the Everett Arena stretching far into the parking lot.

Train enthusiasts young and old came out to see the model train layouts, and dealers from around the region showed off their products.

“The trains you see running here have computer chips inside them, and there's actually a digital signal that's being sent out to each locomotive, so rather than controlling pieces of track, you're controlling the trains themselves,” club resident Jonathan Miner explained.

Organizers said implementing new technology has helped to attract the younger generation of train lovers.
