1,000 enjoy 2-day train show food drive at Torrington Armory

The 15th annual Holiday Model Train Show and Canned Food Drive was held at the Torrington Armory in Torrington, Connecticut
Bonnie Mazzaferro of Harwinton told a little joke at the 15th annual Holiday Model Train Show & Canned Food Drive at the Torrington Armory Sunday afternoon: “Did you hear Santa has three sets of train sets?” she asked, and then answered. “HO, HO, HO!”

Model train aficionados get it, as HO is a scale of trains derived from being approximately half that of 0 scale, or an overall 1:87 scale.

Mazzaferro said, “The show is just awesome! I’ve been coming every year for about five years. I’m fascinated by the detail people put into their modules.”

About 400 people visited Sunday and 600 attended Saturday. The event featured HO- and N-scale model railroad trains and modules presented by the Torrington Area Model Railroaders and Seymour’s Valley N-Trak of Connecticut.
